28 Kothi
Modern minimalist meets Jaipur craft. Gemstone color palettes, Rousseau-esque murals, mid-century furniture, and a quiet residential setting that feels more like a thoughtfully designed private home than a hotel. The staff sit down with you to plan your day — that sort of place.
Moonstone is the only room with a soaking tub — request it specifically if that matters
Why It Matters
A Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Choice Awards 2025 winner. Featured in Architectural Digest, Harper's Bazaar, and Elle Decor. The collaboration between a 9th-generation jeweler (Siddharth Kasliwal, Gem Palace), a French architect, and a Lebanese interior designer somehow works completely. One of the very few places in Jaipur that genuinely rejects the palace-hotel template. Now celebrating its tenth anniversary.
Five rooms in a two-storey Civil Lines guesthouse, each named for a gemstone. The place was conceived by legendary Jaipur jeweler Munnu Kasliwal of Gem Palace, built by French architect Georges Floret, and decorated by Lebanese designer Nur Kaoukji — parrots and palm trees hand-painted across the walls, mirrored headboards, Rajasthani craft in every corner. No TVs anywhere. No pool. But the garden glows with lanterns at night, the library is genuinely special, and breakfast on the terrace is the kind of meal you think about later.
