Why It Matters
Perhaps the only warrior fort in India converted into a working luxury hotel. The architecture — Jaipur Gharana style influenced by both the Mughals and the British — is largely unaltered, and the spa occupies the fort's former cellar/dungeon. The dining program, helmed under celebrity chef Ranveer Brar's direction, draws heavily on local Bishangarh and Shekhawat cooking traditions including open-fire and sandpit cooking.

The raw stone walls, parapets, and Tudor-style arches are all intact — the restoration used traditional Rajasthani construction techniques with local stone — but inside you get 87 contemporary rooms and suites with marble bathrooms and sweeping 360-degree views of the Rajasthani countryside. It sits between Jaipur (about an hour away) and Delhi (around 3 hours), making it genuinely remote. That distance is the point.
