Insider Tip
1/5

The Sheesh Mahal bar's craft cocktails — Jewel of Jaipur (Whisky Sour twist), Pink City Punch (guava lemonade with tequila), Royal Tea (Captain Morgan with masala chai and plum) — are worth a dedicated visit even if you're not staying.

Why It Matters

Anantara's Indian debut and the brand's first property in Rajasthan. Built to evoke a classical Rajasthani royal palace, it sits at a scale (150 rooms, five event gardens, 1,000-guest capacity) that few new-build luxury hotels in Jaipur match. The in-house resident artist and signature Sheesh Mahal bar-restaurant — adorned with Thikri glasswork by third-generation craftsmen — set it apart from the usual heritage-palace converts.

Anantara's first property in India opened quietly in late 2024 on the southern outskirts of Jaipur. The architecture reads like a classical Rajasthani ancestral palace: graceful arches frame the façade, jharokha bay windows filter the afternoon light, and chhajjas provide both decorative refinement and practical shade. Inside, 150 rooms and suites are layered with intricate tikri glasswork, hand-carved woodwork, golden leafing, and Mughal miniature art. It's opulent without apology — and the cultural programming (Spice Spoons cooking class, Royal Heritage Art Walk, elephant village visits) gives it genuine substance beyond the décor.
