Arcadia Boutique Hotel
Old World grandeur meets intimate boutique comfort. Think antique furniture, warm colors, arched stone corridors, and genuine medieval bones — without feeling like a museum. Romantic without being fussy.

Why It Matters
One of the oldest functioning hotel buildings in Central Europe, with documented occupancy going back 800 years. The only Historic Hotels of Europe member in Bratislava. The spa is set in 13th-century Gothic vaults that once served as a prison. Rooms start at 12 m² (cozy, be warned) and scale up to 55 m² two-floor suites. Breakfast is included and guests consistently call it the best in the city.
A 13th-century building in the dead center of Bratislava's Old Town, now a 34-room hotel where the spa occupies what was once a prison and the lobby has an actual olive tree growing under a painted glass ceiling. The building has been standing since around 1290 — Frederick Barbarossa reportedly stayed here during the Third Crusade — and the layers of history are genuinely visible: Gothic vaults in the basement, Renaissance arcades in the courtyard, a 19th-century bar ceiling with original Baroque ornaments. No two rooms are identical, all have marble bathrooms with heated floors, and the whole place is quieter than you'd expect for something 50 meters from Bratislava's Main Square.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The hotel can arrange trips to nearby destinations including the Malokarpatská Wine Route, historic Trnava, Danubiana Museum of Modern Art, Devín Castle ruins, and the thermal spa town of Piešťany. Tailor-made programs available on request.
The building's own history is an activity in itself. Look for the Hussite chalice carved into a stone arcade (1432), the Celtic settlement evidence in the cellar, the late-Gothic wall ornaments on the first floor, and the Renaissance-era arcades in the central courtyard. Staff are knowledgeable about the building's 800-year story.
A privately organized city tour of Bratislava's Old Town with a professional guide, available in multiple languages. Offered as a complimentary gift for corporate groups of 15 or more people. Can be arranged through the hotel for other guests at additional cost.
