Why It Matters
Adaptive reuse of the 1908 Union Pacific Depot — a designated historic landmark. The property is one of SLC's most architecturally significant hospitality openings in years, with four distinct F&B outlets, a 2,500-record vinyl lounge, and 35 suites split between a contemporary tower addition and the original historic depot building.
Asher Adams opened in October 2024 inside Salt Lake City's 1908 Union Pacific Depot — a genuine adaptive reuse of an architectural landmark, now a 225-room luxury hotel. The original Grand Hall is intact with soaring ceilings, original stained-glass windows, and two ceiling murals by early 20th-century San Francisco artists. It's the first Autograph Collection property in downtown SLC, and the bones of the building do most of the heavy lifting.

The pinnacle of the Historic wing at 893 sq ft — 14-foot ceilings, mid-century modern styling, spacious living and dining area with a dining table for six, entryway half bath, king bedroom, and a master bath with deep soaking tub, double vanity, and plush robes and slippers. This is the room to book if you want the full depot experience.
