Asher Adams
Golden Age of Rail Travel meets mid-century modern. Think warm leather, rich textiles, curated vintage records, and carefully restored historic details inside a building that genuinely has stories to tell.
Book a Historic category room if you want the character — four-poster beds, high ceilings, and actual depot DNA. Tower rooms are modern and clean but could be any upscale hotel.
Why It Matters
Adaptive reuse of the 1908 Union Pacific Depot — a designated historic landmark. The property is one of SLC's most architecturally significant hospitality openings in years, with four distinct F&B outlets, a 2,500-record vinyl lounge, and 35 suites split between a contemporary tower addition and the original historic depot building.
Asher Adams opened in October 2024 inside Salt Lake City's 1908 Union Pacific Depot — a genuine adaptive reuse of an architectural landmark, now a 225-room luxury hotel. The original Grand Hall is intact with soaring ceilings, original stained-glass windows, and two ceiling murals by early 20th-century San Francisco artists. It's the first Autograph Collection property in downtown SLC, and the bones of the building do most of the heavy lifting.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The hotel sits adjacent to the Delta Center (Utah Jazz NBA, Utah Hockey Club NHL) and steps from the TRAX light rail. The concierge team points guests toward nearby National Parks, ski resorts (Alta, Brighton, Snowbird, Solitude), and downtown culture.
Curated in-room add-ons bookable before or during your stay — things like flowers, champagne, sweet treats, and celebratory setups. Orderable via the hotel's reservation portal.
A dedicated vinyl listening lounge located en route to No. 119 on the second floor. Drop the needle on one of 2,500 vintage records curated by DJ Jared Deitch from Brooklyn basements and private record libraries. Plush gold sofas, Delta Center views, classic cocktails. Named for the choreographed tools used by early American railroad workers.
A vintage photo booth and letter-writing station in the Grand Hall lobby. Snap a photo, write a note, leave with a physical keepsake from your stay. Simple idea, genuinely charming in the context of the historic depot.
