Boulder
Adventure-camp boutique. Think REI store crossed with a mountain hostel, but with proper beds. Common areas dominate — climbing wall, ping pong, fire pits, sauna and hot tub. Rooms are cozy but no-frills. The energy is social and outdoorsy.

Why It Matters
One of the only hotels in Boulder purpose-built around the outdoor-adventure ethos, with an indoor bouldering wall, sauna, and fire pits on-site. It sits squarely between CU campus and Pearl Street, which is genuinely hard to beat for walkability. Part of the small Basecamp Hotels group (also in South Lake Tahoe and Tahoe City).
Basecamp Boulder is a 50-room adventure-themed boutique hotel parked right between the CU Boulder campus and Pearl Street Mall. The outdoor gear aesthetic runs deep — ropes for room dividers, lanterns instead of table lamps, carabiner-fastened canvas maps, ice chests doubling as ottomans. It's a genuinely fun place to land if you're here to hike, climb, or ski Eldora Mountain 21 miles away. The rooms are clean and well-thought-out, though nothing luxurious; the real draws are the communal spaces, local craft beer on tap, and a staff that actually knows Boulder.

On Property
How you'll actually spend your days.
Staff function as local guides — trail recommendations, brewery tips, ski conditions at Eldora, bike routes. Guests receive an Area Guide Pocket Book at check-in with curated local picks.
Multiple outdoor fire pits on the property, including on the lobby deck and The Barn (upper deck with mountain views). S'mores kits available from the front desk. Open until 10pm.
A small fitness area with Peloton bikes and a dedicated yoga space. Honest caveat: it's tiny. If serious gym work is on the agenda, look elsewhere.
Giant Jenga and a selection of board games available in the rec/game room. Good for a rainy evening.
A proper indoor climbing wall in the Rec Room (The Lounge) — two garage-door style walls, multiple routes. Open to all guests. One of the genuinely unique features of this hotel.
Ping pong table in the Rec Room (The Lounge). Available any time for guests.
The Rec Room (750 sq ft) features two garage doors, the bouldering wall, and large projector. Can host up to 100 people for a reception. Groups of 10+ rooms get special pricing.
