Why It Matters

Cape Grace sits on its own private quay right in the V&A Waterfront, with 112 rooms split between harbour views and Table Mountain/marina views. The hotel opened in 1996, run by the Brand family as an independently spirited luxury property, and became Fairmont's first South African hotel in 2024 following a nine-month renovation by 1508 London. Small enough to feel genuinely personal, big enough to have a legendary whisky bar.
