Casa Clàt
Art-forward Mediterranean boutique. Each suite reads like a design installation. The building is historic but nothing feels stuffy — think exposed 19th-century brickwork next to sleek custom Italian furniture and Bang & Olufsen speakers. The restaurant and bar are serious enough to draw locals.
The Torrino rooftop can be privately hired for dinner or events for up to 8 people — worth enquiring about for a special occasion
Why It Matters
Michelin-listed (1 Chiave/Key), Tablet Hotels member, and the only hotel in Cagliari with this level of design ambition. The direct link to Nieddittas mussel farming means hyper-fresh, ultra-local seafood is baked into the DNA of the restaurant — not just a marketing claim.
Casa Clàt is a nine-suite boutique hotel carved out of a 19th-century palazzo (Palazzo Frau) on Viale Regina Margherita, one of Cagliari's busiest central boulevards. Owned by siblings Caterina and Claudio Murgia — the family behind the Nieddittas mussel farming company — the property puts Sardinian ingredients and craftsmanship front and center. Art director Giorgio Casu worked with local artists Carolina Melis and Mauro Patta, and Studio Pilia handled the architectural renovation, giving every suite a completely distinct personality: frescoed walls, handmade tapestries, suspended king-size beds, antique beams and polished concrete sitting side-by-side.
