Casa Habita
Art Deco meets mid-century Mexican, with a serious Milanese design sensibility. Think Mondrian-style colored partitions, gray Carrara marble bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling steel-framed windows, and green wicker chairs inspired by traditional Mexican equipales. Lobby has a fireplace and a wall of mirrors. Retro without being kitschy.

Why It Matters
One of the few genuinely design-forward hotels in Guadalajara, built by Grupo Habita (Mexico's most respected boutique hotel group) with interiors by Dimorestudio of Milan. Architecture by local firm Estudio5 seamlessly merged a historic early 20th-century casa with a modern tower. Also participates in Marriott Bonvoy via the Design Hotels affiliation.
Casa Habita is a 37-room boutique hotel in Guadalajara's Lafayette/Americana neighborhood — the area Time Out named the world's coolest neighborhood in 2022. Two very different buildings share one identity: a 1940s house holds the lobby, library, restaurant, and rooftop pool; a contemporary nine-story tower behind it contains all the rooms and a rooftop spa. Milanese design studio Dimorestudio handled the interiors, threading together burgundy, salmon, and artichoke hues with bespoke pieces and reclaimed materials, so the whole thing feels like a very well-curated home rather than a hotel.
