Dylan Hotel
Contemporary Irish boutique. Victorian bones, modern personality. Warm, personal, and definitively un-corporate — bespoke Irish craftwork and original art in every corner of a 72-room property that still feels like someone's private home.
Ask for a corner room — they get dramatically more natural light than standard rooms
Why It Matters
Dublin's only five-star boutique hotel. Family-owned by the Ross family. The building's foundation stone was laid by Princess Helena of Schleswig-Holstein. Opened in 2006 in a restored 1900 nurses' home for the Royal City of Dublin Hospital, then comprehensively redesigned in 2019. Member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, Ireland's Blue Book, and Virtuoso. The Ruby Room cocktail bar occupies the exact space where the hospital matron lived in the 1920s.
A 1900 Victorian red-brick nurses' home turned five-star boutique hotel, the Dylan has been family-owned and operated by the Ross family since it opened in 2006. The grand street-facing façade gives way to interiors loaded with commissioned Irish art, underfloor-heated marble bathrooms, and a moody velvet cocktail bar named after the hospital's 1920s matron. It sits quietly in Dublin 4 — embassy territory, wide tree-lined streets, a park at the corner — yet Grafton Street is a 15-minute walk away.

A charming private library space available for corporate events, small meetings, and private dinners. Intimate and characterful — not a bland conference room.
