Lake Placid
Scandinavian-modern hygge meets mid-century Americana. Think pale wood, minimalist white walls, exposed beams, cast-iron tubs, typewriters on desks, and a barrel sauna out back. The vibe is grown-up summer camp — fire pits, s'mores kits, complimentary bikes, and owners who might personally greet you at check-in.

Why It Matters
One of the only design-forward boutique hotels in the Lake Placid area. Part of the Tablet Hotels collection. Family-owned, with co-founders actively involved in day-to-day hospitality. Frette Italian sheets in rooms, a sommelier-curated bar, and a private gathering room in a converted blacksmith shop.
A renovated historic motor lodge turned Scandinavian-modern boutique retreat on the banks of the Chubb River, just a short walk from downtown Lake Placid. Opened August 2022 by the founders of the original Eastwind Windham, the property brings the same dark blue clapboard aesthetic, hygge-forward interiors, and founder-level hospitality to the Adirondacks. Twenty-nine rooms and eight freestanding Lushna cabins spread across several buildings — some Victorian, some mid-century motor-lodge bones — all loaded with curated vintage furniture, wood stoves, and reading nooks.
