Entre Cielos is a working Malbec vineyard turned 24-room boutique resort in Luján de Cuyo — and it looks nothing like what you'd expect. Arrive and you're greeted by a low-slung modernist structure in raw concrete, a Zumthor-esque building where most guests are expecting a ranch house. Founded in 2011 by a group of Swiss friends, the property sits on 20 acres including eight acres of vines, with the Andes as a permanent backdrop. The real showstopper here is the spa: Latin America's first and only authentic six-stage Turkish hammam, bolstered by grape-based vinotherapy treatments that make the most of what's literally growing outside your window.

Traditional open-fire barbecue nights with chorizo, blood sausage, skirt steak, flank, ribs, and sirloin. Starts with appetizers and wine inside, then heads outdoors under the stars. Check with reception for scheduled nights during your stay.

Tours of Entre Cielos' own eight acres of Malbec vines, with tastings of the hotel's award-winning labels: Marantal Classic, Marantal Rosé, and Gran Marantal (91 points from Robert Parker; voted one of the top 20 Malbecs of 2013 by Descorchados).
Daily wine education class held at 6pm. Limited to 6 guests per session, with a focus on the soils, terroir, and wines of Mendoza. One session per person per stay is included complimentary with all room bookings. Sign up at check-in — it fills quickly.
