Bahrain Bay
Art Deco meets Gulf resort. Interiors evoke the grandeur of 1930s transatlantic ocean liners — rich materials, geometric accents, custom Bahraini artwork — while the outdoor spaces lean into a breezy beach-club energy. Good for families (waterpark, kids club) and business travelers alike. The lobby's two-century-old preserved olive trees are a genuine talking point.
Book a city-view room (Manama skyline side) rather than Gulf-facing if active waterfront construction near the property is ongoing — guests have flagged this.
Why It Matters
Designed by SOM (architects of the Burj Khalifa) on its own private island, the hotel opened in March 2015 and is owned by the Royal Family of Bahrain. Pierre-Yves Rochon handled the interiors, drawing on 1930s ocean liner design. The spa is the second largest in the entire Four Seasons global portfolio at 3,485 sqm across four interconnected buildings. Wolfgang Puck runs three restaurants here, including CUT — named Bahrain's best restaurant five consecutive years. The 50th-floor Blue Moon Lounge is one of the highest bars in the Gulf.
A 68-story twin tower rising 200 meters above its own private 12-acre man-made island in Bahrain Bay, connected to Manama by bridge. The architecture is by SOM — the same firm that produced the Burj Khalifa — and the interiors are Pierre-Yves Rochon's love letter to 1930s ocean liner travel: Art Deco lines, Macassar ebony, mahogany, and a calming palette of beige, green, and gold pulled from the island's surrounding nature. With 273 rooms, five pools, a white-sand beach, one of the largest spas in the Four Seasons portfolio, and a Wolfgang Puck restaurant empire spanning seven venues, this place functions more like a self-contained resort city than a hotel.
