Why It Matters
One of Quebec City's most design-forward boutique hotels, housed in a historically significant manor. The only hotel in the city with its own cigar lounge (Société Cigare) and a hidden speakeasy. The building has genuine political and cultural history baked into it — this wasn't a blank-canvas renovation.
Hôtel Maurice occupies Manoir Price, a century-old Tudor Revival manor on Grande-Allée that has been, in order: a posh private residence, the headquarters of Quebec's Union Nationale party (1937–1972), and then a beloved nightlife complex for three decades. The hotel opened in July 2024 and leans hard into its past. The design is unapologetically Art Deco — marble floors, velvet banquettes, iridescent gold-tiled showers, and bold color-blocked walls. All 25 rooms are distinct. The ground floor restaurant turns into a full DJ club on Friday and Saturday nights, so light sleepers should plan accordingly.

The entry-level room. At 161 sq ft it is genuinely compact — the smallest at the hotel. That said, the Art Deco design still shows up in full: iridescent shower tiles, bold accent walls, and carefully chosen antique furnishings. Fits 2 people.

At 317 sq ft, the Élite is where rooms start feeling genuinely spacious. Offers a king or queen bed, everything needed for a comfortable 2-person stay. The size jump over the Prestige tier is meaningful.

Named for the Price family who built the manor. At 560 sq ft it's the entry-level suite with a king bed, a proper sitting area for guests, and a kitchenette. Two people only. The most historic-feeling room in the hotel.

Every Thursday the restaurant offers signature pasta dishes for $15 CAD — Spaghettoni alla Carbonara with guanciale, Pappardelle with mushrooms and smoked cheddar, or classic Spaghetti Bolognese. One of the best value dining moments in the hotel.
Quebec City's only cigar lounge. Pairs premium cigars with cognac, whisky, and craft cocktails. Staff are knowledgeable and will guide both first-timers and aficionados. A signature part of the Maurice experience.
The hotel offers a door-to-door private transport service in a luxury SUV for guests — so you can fully enjoy the evening without worrying about a return ride. Covers Quebec North Shore. Reservation required and subject to availability.
Friday and Saturday evenings, the Restaurant Lounge transitions into a nightclub with a resident DJ. The restaurant stays open until 3am. The music is audible from guest rooms — a feature for nightlife fans, a real drawback for early sleepers.
