Why It Matters
Two consecutive Michelin Keys (2024, 2025). The building itself was designed by John Nash — the same architect behind Buckingham Palace and the Theatre Royal Haymarket next door. Firmdale Hotels co-founders Kit and Tim Kemp have been defining London boutique luxury since 1985, and the Haymarket's basement pool-bar is one of the most surprising amenities in the city.
A 53-room boutique hotel inside a John Nash Regency building on a quiet side street off the Haymarket. Inside, Georgian proportions meet Kit Kemp's signature riot of colour, contemporary art, and custom design — bold headboards, curated antiques, bespoke fabrics. The standout detail here is full-length windows opening directly onto a private terrace lined with olive trees — genuinely rare in central London. At 905 sq ft, it's a serious amount of space. A king bed plus a sofabed makes it work for small families too.

Individually designed suites featuring Kit Kemp's oversized headboards and her characteristic mix of pattern on pattern. More generous proportions than the standard rooms, with a seating area. Popular choice for couples and solo travellers wanting a bit more breathing room without committing to a full suite.
KingLuxury Room
The entry-level room at the Haymarket, and still individually designed by Kit Kemp with her trademark bold colour and pattern. Features a queen-size bed, granite and oak bathroom, writing desk, Bose SoundLink, flat-screen TV, Chromecast, and a fully stocked minibar. No tea/coffee machine — room service covers it.
One Bedroom Suffolk Suite
Designed in Kit Kemp's contemporary English style with its own completely individual look and feel. Features a separate drawing room, kitchenette, master bedroom with a king-size bed (can be twinned), bathroom, and dressing room. A record player with a selection of vinyl records adds a nice nostalgic touch. Fresh flowers and RikRak amenities included.

The Townhouse
A standalone residence within the hotel, occupying four floors of the John Nash building. Has its own private latch-key entrance on a quiet side street — complete independence, but with full hotel services on call. Two to five double bedrooms (all can be twinned), a drawing room with floor-to-ceiling windows, a fully equipped kitchen, and a dining room. Kit Kemp designed throughout. Record player, Bose unit, newspapers, fresh flowers. For those who want a proper London home, not just a suite.

The Leon Garner Jazz Band curates an evening of jazz vocalists and musicians at Brumus Bar every Wednesday and Thursday from 5:45pm. A mix of UK jazz scene regulars and international talent. Cocktails and bar snacks encouraged.
