Why It Matters

Hobo Helsinki opened in 2024 inside a converted building on Kluuvikatu — five minutes on foot from the Central Railway Station, a block from Esplanadi Park. Berlin studio Studio Aisslinger designed the 183-room, 8-floor property around exposed brick peg-walls, terrazzo floors, and bold textiles. The ground floor bar and restaurant doubles as a live music and events venue, and the whole hotel is built around a community-first philosophy: rotating art, weekly DJ nights, Yatzy Tuesdays, morning running clubs, and an on-site co-working space.

The 8th-floor crown jewel. 74 sqm with floor-to-ceiling corner windows giving a proper panoramic view over Helsinki. Features a round sofa lounge, a dinner table for 10, a full bar with Smeg fridge, and a bathtub. This is the room for a business dinner that slides into a party. Can connect directly to the Loft Suite for an entire 8th-floor takeover.

Same footprint as the Large King (25–31 sqm) but configured with two separate beds, making it a solid family or two-friends option. Some rooms have a bathtub — worth requesting at booking. Includes sofa, coffee/tea facilities, and all standard Hobo gear.

The workhorse of the room lineup. At 17–21 sqm it's a genuine step up from the Sleeper — adds a desk, sofa bed option, and more breathing room. Hyper-functional design with hardwood floors, blackout curtains, and the signature peg-wall. Some guests have flagged that the sliding glass bathroom door offers minimal sound separation from the sleeping area.

The entry-level room and the best-value bet in central Helsinki. Between 13 and 16 sqm, so yes, it's small — but smart small. Compact shower, curated peg-wall with borrowable gadgets, in-room speaker, and free gym access. No desk; this category is for people who plan to be out in the city, not working from the room.
Queen (160 cm) · 14 sqmHobo Studio
At 34–43 sqm, this is genuinely bigger than most Helsinki studio apartments. Each Hobo Studio is slightly different from the next — some have a walk-in shower, others a bathtub. All come with a Smeg fridge, espresso machine, a larger lounge area, and the signature peg-wall. The best choice for a longer stay or anyone wanting proper living room vibes without going full suite.

Loft Suite
The largest room at 94 sqm, spread across two levels — the party lives downstairs in the open lounge, and the bedroom sits privately on its own upper floor with a separate bathroom. There's a round dinner table for 5, a bar corner with Smeg fridge, an oversized shower, and a separate bathtub. Two full bathrooms total. Connects to the Corner Suite if you want to take over the whole top floor.
