Why It Matters
Ranked in the top 3 hotels in Santiago on TripAdvisor and recommended by The New York Times. Listed on both Michelin Guide and Tablet Hotels. The building itself is an architectural landmark — one of very few heritage castle-properties operating as a boutique hotel in the city.
An actual 1923 castle turned boutique hotel, sitting in Bellavista right at the foot of Cerro San Cristóbal. The building — stately, vermillion-hued, hard to miss — was originally the residence of the aristocratic Lehuedé family, then passed through the hands of a Russian writer and later served as a gathering spot for artists. A careful three-year restoration opened it as a hotel in May 2014, and its 31 individually designed rooms retain original fireplaces, period woodwork, and 1920s decorative sensibility while delivering modern comfort. The Grisanti & Cussen studio handled the interiors, so there is real design intention behind every room.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Every evening from 5–6pm, all guests are welcome to the lounge for a complimentary glass of Chilean wine. Simple but effective — it's become a signature of the hotel's hospitality.
Staff can book guided tours to Andean ski resorts and trekking in Cajón del Maipo, all reachable within about an hour from the hotel. A ski shuttle service is available. Best in June–September season.
The concierge team arranges and books city tours across Santiago. Given the on-foot proximity to Cerro San Cristóbal funicular, La Chascona, Patio Bellavista, and Barrio Lastarria, many guests simply explore independently.
Staff-arranged day trips to Valparaíso and the Pacific coast, reachable in about 90 minutes. The hotel curates the excursion and handles logistics.
Concierge-arranged private tours to Chilean wineries in the Casablanca and Maipo Valleys, about 90 minutes from the hotel. Staff handle the booking and can tailor the itinerary.
