Why It Matters
Ranked #6 Best Hotel in South America by Condé Nast Traveler 2025 and #40 in the world by Travel + Leisure 2024 — the only vineyard hotel to appear in either list. The building is a protected National Monument and the surrounding park is the only one of its kind in Chile. Viña Santa Rita was named #1 World's 50 Best Wineries 2025 by Forbes.
A 19th-century Pompeian-style mansion on the Santa Rita wine estate in the Maipo Valley, about 45 minutes from Santiago. Declared a Chilean National Monument in 1972, fully renovated in 2017, and set within a 40-hectare park designed by French landscape architect Guillaume Renner — complete with a swan lagoon, Roman baths, a neo-Gothic chapel, and century-old trees. There are just 16 rooms. Butler service, estate wine poured at check-in, and no reason to leave the grounds.
