Why It Matters
One of the few hotels in Switzerland with direct face-on views of the Eiger north face from guest rooms. Historic property dating to 1892 in a car-free mountain village of 450 people. A 4-star, family-owned alpine hotel built in 1892, now run by the Stähli family in its fourth generation. Sits directly opposite the Mürren BLM mountain railway station at 1,650m, with front-row views of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau from rooms, restaurant, and the indoor pool. Car-free Mürren is reachable only by mountain railway from Lauterbrunnen or cable car from Stechelberg — that inaccessibility is a feature, not a bug.
