Hotel Eiger Mürren
Warm, personal alpine chalet hotel. Classic Swiss mountain design updated with modern wellness and contemporary suite options. Family-run spirit is tangible — the kind of place where staff remember your name and the owner's family is genuinely present.

Why It Matters
One of the few hotels in Switzerland with direct face-on views of the Eiger north face from guest rooms. Historic property dating to 1892 in a car-free mountain village of 450 people. Home to a themed James Bond Suite — a nod to the nearby Schilthorn, used as a filming location for 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'.
A 4-star, family-owned alpine hotel built in 1892, now run by the Stähli family in its fourth generation. Sits directly opposite the Mürren BLM mountain railway station at 1,650m, with front-row views of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau from rooms, restaurant, and the indoor pool. Car-free Mürren is reachable only by mountain railway from Lauterbrunnen or cable car from Stechelberg — that inaccessibility is a feature, not a bug.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Over 200km of marked trails from the village doorstep. Summer options include 'Hiking with cows' routes, waterfalls, and high Alpine meadows.
Bike rentals available from the hotel; trails accessible from the village across the plateau and into the surrounding area.
Tandem paragliding launching from Almendhubel above Mürren with views across the Lauterbrunnen valley.
A 2.2km via ferrata opened in 2008 with 300m vertical gain, running between Mürren and Gimmelwald.
Outdoor curling with a direct view of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Mürren has a storied curling history — the Mürren-Tächi Curling Club was founded in 1934.
Outdoor ice rink at the Alpine Sports Centre (Alpines Sportzentrum Mürren) — recently roofed over for all-weather use. Included in the hotel's winter ski packages.
The hotel offers rental of Skigemmel — a regional ski variant — for guests who want to try something different.
Direct ski-in/ski-out access to the Mürren-Schilthorn area. The wider Jungfrau Ski Region covers 211km of prepared slopes across Mürren-Schilthorn, Wengen-Kleine Scheidegg, and Grindelwald-First. Top elevation is 3,000m at the Schilthorn summit.
Toboggan run in the village. A proper old-school Swiss slope, not a theme-park version.
Two seminar rooms with full technical equipment plus the Eiger Saal for banquets. Corporate events with an alpine backdrop are the pitch.
