Hotel Escondido is Grupo Habita's barefoot-luxe beach outpost on a remote stretch of Oaxaca's Pacific coast. Sixteen palapa-roofed bungalows sit on a private virgin beach, each with its own plunge pool and ocean-view terrace — design credentials intact, but the dress code is sunscreen. The 50-meter infinity pool runs parallel to the shore and practically dissolves into the sea.

All 16 bungalows follow the same concept: palapa roof, tropical hardwood floors, stucco walls, and polished concrete bathrooms. Each has a private plunge pool and a terrace with direct access to the beach and ocean views. The interior is intentionally spare — colorful furniture pops against white walls, wood shutters let in the sea breeze, and hammocks hang in the outdoor space. Small but carefully formed.

Private virgin beach with beach club access for guests. Loungers, shade structures, and direct sand access from each bungalow terrace. The shore break is typically strong — swimming in the ocean is not always possible, but it is a spectacular stretch of unspoiled coast.
The hotel works with local suppliers to host tailor-made private events on the beach — from birthday celebrations to intimate dinners and weddings. A dedicated event planner handles logistics.
Fundación Casa Wabi, one of Mexico's most important contemporary art residencies and foundations, is just 0.7 km from the hotel. Designed by architect Tadao Ando, it hosts international artists and exhibitions. The hotel can arrange a visit.

The hotel sits near one of Mexico's most famous surf stretches on the Oaxacan Pacific coast. This section of coastline is famously well-suited for surfing. The hotel can help arrange lessons and gear; the area near the hotel tends to be less crowded than the famous Zicatela pipeline further east.
Olive Ridley and other sea turtle species nest on the beaches along this stretch of Oaxacan coast. The lagoon near the hotel is a known turtle habitat. Best in season (typically July–December).
