Book the Deluxe Room in the original casona for the high ceilings and sky-lit space — more atmospheric than the tower rooms

Why It Matters

Part of Grupo Habita — the design-forward Mexican hotel group — and a Member of Design Hotels. Listed on the 2021 Condé Nast Traveler Hot List. The property sits inside a UNESCO World Heritage Site neighborhood, and the architecture by Alberto Kalach has become a reference point for heritage-meets-contemporary hotel projects in Mexico.

A 12-room boutique hotel that stitches together a 19th-century colonial casona and a new Brutalist tower designed by architect Alberto Kalach. The old building holds the restaurant, bar, Culture Room, and four rooms; the contemporary tower adds eight more. Every piece of furniture was made locally from sabino wood, and the textiles, robes, and rugs were produced by Oaxacan artisans — so even the small stuff feels considered.

4 room types available

Balcony Room

Deluxe Room
Deluxe

Deluxe Room

The most atmospheric option — set inside the original 19th-century casona with genuinely high ceilings and a sky-lit layout that floods the room with natural light. The proportions of the old building make these feel bigger than the tower rooms. Handmade furnishings and artisan textiles throughout.

Patio Room
Standard

Patio Room

On the ground floor of the contemporary tower, these rooms share a leafy courtyard patio. They get a dressing room and a rain shower — upgrades on the Balcony Room. Great for guests who want indoor-outdoor feel without sacrificing privacy indoors. Note: voices from the patio carry upward, so ask for a higher-floor room if noise is a concern.
