Why It Matters
Bunkhouse's Texas boutique pedigree applied to Louisville for the first time, with a French-inspired name that nods to both the patron saint of Paris and the Ste. Genevieve limestone that makes Kentucky bourbon. Michelin One-Key recipient in 2025. The hotel is also directly adjacent to Rabbit Hole Distillery and co-created an art walk with them.
Hotel Genevieve is Bunkhouse's first Kentucky property and its biggest hotel to date — 122 rooms across six floors in Louisville's NuLu district, opened in May 2023. The new build was designed to look like it belongs among the neighborhood's French-inspired architecture, with bold Art Deco-leaning interiors by Philadelphia studio ROHE Creative: hand-plastered high ceilings, rich saturated colors, curvaceous furniture, and those instantly-recognizable kimono robes hanging in every bathroom. It holds a 2025 Michelin One-Key Award.
