Indigo - Omaha Downtown
Roaring Twenties speakeasy meets urban loft. Moody, design-forward, history-loaded. Not a chain hotel feel despite the IHG flag.
Ask about the password for Anna's Place at check-in — it is the speakeasy off the lobby, open Mon–Sat until 1 AM
Why It Matters
The building is on Omaha's Historic Register and once housed both Madame Anna Wilson and crime boss Tom Denison. The Michelin Guide selected it for its combination of genuine neighborhood story-telling, Twenties-influenced interiors, and the genuinely excellent Anna's Place speakeasy. It is also one of very few hotels of this caliber in downtown Omaha.
A 100-year-old downtown Omaha building — originally a hotel for railroad travelers — that went through a four-year renovation and reopened in 2021 as one of the sharpest boutique hotels in the midwest. The design leans hard into Prohibition-era decadence: hardwood floors, exposed brick, unfinished ceilings, and local art around every corner. Oh, and there is a password-protected speakeasy hidden behind a market storefront off the lobby.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Full-service gym open around the clock. Equipment includes treadmills, elliptical machines, free weights, a rower, stair stepper, and a stationary bicycle. Guests have noted the selection is solid and the equipment is well-maintained.
Getting into Anna's Place is itself part of the experience — ask for the password at the front desk, slide past the market storefront facade, and you are in one of Omaha's most atmospheric cocktail bars. It is locally owned, so the bar program and the history behind it are genuine.
The hotel's signature perk: a complimentary Lincoln Navigator shuttle (with massage seats, per guest reviews) that runs to the Old Market, Omaha Eppley Airfield, and other key destinations. The drivers are locals who give genuine city tours and recommendations. Runs daily 7 AM to 10 PM.
The hotel lends out bikes complete with helmet and lock — a genuinely useful perk for exploring downtown Omaha and the riverfront. Old Market is walkable but biking opens up more of the city.
