Indigo Saigon the City by IHG
Design-forward boutique hotel rooted in neighbourhood storytelling — nostalgic Saigonese aesthetics (barber chairs as lobby workstations, cyclo art installations, retro games, vinyl record players) layered with polished modern comfort.
Ask for a room with Ba Son Bridge view — the early morning light on the bridge is the hotel's best free attraction.
Why It Matters
The first Hotel Indigo to open in Vietnam, and the only property in the IHG portfolio that tells the story of Ba Son's shipbuilding heritage through architecture, design, and menus. The Pho'jito cocktail alone signals what this place is going for.
Hotel Indigo Saigon The City opened in February 2025 as IHG's first Hotel Indigo in Vietnam, landing in the Ba Son neighbourhood of District 1 — the same zone that once housed the legendary Ba Son Shipyard. The 17-floor property leans hard into that history: rooms come with hand-drawn murals of Saigonese street life, 'garde manger' minibars styled like old larders, louvre windows, and floral tile carpets. All 150 rooms look out over the city, the rooftop pool sits at 100 sqm with sweeping skyline views, and the two on-site restaurants riff on Vietnamese fusion. Walkable to the Opera House, Nguyen Hue Walking Street, and Little Japan Town.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The hotel publishes a curated local area guide covering Ba Son Bridge, Bach Dang Wharf, Little Japan Town, the Central Post Office, Independence Palace, and the Fine Arts Museum — most within walking distance. Concierge can arrange deeper neighbourhood discovery sessions.
The hotel's communal areas are set up with retro games and a working vinyl record player. The vibe is deliberately low-key — the kind of corner that makes you linger longer in the lobby than you planned.
100 sqm outdoor rooftop pool open 7:00 AM–7:00 PM daily. With Ba Son Bridge and Saigon River views, it's the hotel's headline outdoor moment. Poolside chairs, umbrellas, and towel service provided.
Monthly guided painting evenings led by local Saigon artists. Held in the hotel's communal spaces, the sessions pair a glass of wine with instruction — a casual, social way to connect with the local creative scene. Email theshipyard@hotelindigosaigon.com to reserve a spot; they fill up.
