Hotel L'Auberge has been at it since 1948 — a French-and-English-inflected manor built around a converted Tudor-style water tower, sitting in the quiet, leafy Barrio Parque de Golf neighborhood of Punta del Este. Two blocks from Brava beach, but a world apart from the casino hotels and beachfront palaces that define the rest of the resort.
