Why It Matters
Ferragamo family-owned flagship, designed by Florentine interior architect Michele Bönan. Houses 400+ works of 20th-century art, including original Picassos and Cocteaus. Home to Borgo San Jacopo, a 1 Michelin Star restaurant. Forbes Travel Guide 5-star award 2025. One of very few hotels directly on the Arno with Ponte Vecchio views.
Hotel Lungarno has been sitting on the south bank of the Arno for over half a century, watching the Ponte Vecchio reflected in the water below. It's owned by the Ferragamo family, designed by architect Michele Bönan, and it shows — the whole place runs with the kind of confident, understated elegance that doesn't need to announce itself. Shades of blue and white give every room a nautical quality, as if the building itself might drift downriver. There's a Michelin-starred restaurant attached, more than 400 works of 20th-century art on the walls, and a location so close to the Ponte Vecchio that you can practically reach out and touch it.
