Why It Matters
One of only two hotels in the Netherlands fully equipped with Hästens beds throughout. Houses the Michelin-starred Restaurant ML, led by chef Mark Gratama, who has held the star continuously since 2010. The building itself is a registered national monument (Rijksmonument) built in 1703 as the printworks of Johan Enschedé.
Hotel ML occupies a 1703 Rijksmonument — the former printworks and residence of the Enschedé printing dynasty — right on Haarlem's pedestrian Klokhuisplein. The building is grand and genuinely historic, with wooden beams and alcoves that no renovation could replicate. But the rooms are fully modern: clean lines, Hästens beds (one of only two hotels in the Netherlands to have them throughout), and Marie Stella Maris toiletries. The real draw, beyond the architecture and the location opposite St. Bavo Church, is that the same building holds a Michelin-starred restaurant.

Comfort Room
The entry-level room at ML, but don't read too much into that. The Comfort rooms sit on the first and second floor of the monumental building and range between 25 and 32 m². Each one is uniquely decorated — modern and characterful in equal measure — and every room has a Hästens bed, which is non-negotiable at ML. The bathroom comes with a shower (no tub at this level), Marie Stella Maris products, and heated floors that guests rave about in winter.

The only room in the hotel with a fully separate sitting and sleeping area — 538 sqft (roughly 50 m²), located on the second floor. Comes with a bathroom featuring both shower and bath.
