Hotel Noum is a 50-room boutique hotel in Minamitenma, sitting right on the bank of the Okawa river (the old Kamogawa). The design philosophy is quietly radical for Japan: minimalist rooms with warm materials, original artwork, and live plants — deliberately stripped of non-essential electronics so guests actually decompress. The river-facing rooms, especially the king, are the obvious draw, but the ground-floor cafe lounge is the hotel's genuine soul, pulling in both guests and locals from 7am through to 11pm.

Sleeps two on a double bed. Also starts from 10sqm — cozy rather than spacious, but the river view variants open things up considerably. Standard doubles face inward. Riverview doubles are the better choice for couples.

Built-in projector and speaker system means you can stream films or music without lugging gear. Morning light floods the room. The illuminated riverside view at night is genuinely impressive.
