Hotel Saint Augustine
Art-adjacent design boutique with a residential, neighborhood-friendly feel. Bold public spaces give way to calmer, more serene guest rooms. Think art curator's home, not grand hotel lobby.

Why It Matters
The only Texas hotel to earn a Michelin Key in 2025. Sits directly across from the Menil Collection campus, with Aaron Bludorn's Michelin-recommended Perseid restaurant on-site. Architecture by Lake|Flato, interiors by Post Company — a collaboration that earned immediate national press.
Hotel Saint Augustine is a 71-room Bunkhouse property spread across five two-story buildings in Montrose, connected by open-air bridges and four landscaped courtyards thick with heritage oaks and rare native plants. Architecture by Texas firm Lake|Flato and interiors by Post Company share the same vocabulary: burled walnut at the reception desk, Calacatta Viola marble accents, red-lacquered shelves stacked with objets d'art, and guest rooms wrapped in saturated velvet blues, reds, sages, and mustards. It's a design hotel that functions as a real hotel. In 2025, it became the only Texas property to receive a Michelin Key.

How you'll actually spend your days.
A special menu available only on Sunday and Monday evenings at Perseid. Features Côte de Boeuf as a centerpiece — a limited-availability offering worth planning a visit around.
Two-course lunch for $35, available Monday through Friday from 11am to 3pm. One of the better-value dining options in the hotel.
Saturday and Sunday brunch at Perseid from 7am to 3pm. Open to hotel guests and the public. Routinely described as among the better brunch experiences in Houston.
The property occupies a full city block with four landscaped courtyards connected by winding outdoor pathways and open-air bridges. A landscape architecture project by Ten Eyck, incorporating rare native plants sourced in collaboration with The John Fairey Garden — eyelash sage, dwarf rock palm, blue rabbit's foot fern. Worth a slow walk-through.
A weekly vinyl listening event held every Wednesday at the Augustine Lounge & Listening Room. The room is lined with records; the hotel plays curated selections while guests socialize and sip signature cocktails. Open to the public — this is as much a neighborhood event as a hotel one.
