Why It Matters

Hotel Savoy has been a Grado institution since 1952, when Michele and Maria Rossiello converted the Villa Azzurra into a small tourist destination. Three generations of the same family run it today, and that shows — in the loyalty of the staff, the fresh flowers in the lobby, and the local art on the walls. It's the only 5-star hotel on the island, with 79 rooms spread across a low-rise three-floor building designed to sit quietly within Grado's lagoon landscape. The real draw is the pair of seawater pools sourced straight from 100 meters offshore, rich in iodine and plankton — something most hotels in this part of the Adriatic simply can't offer.

Notably larger than the standard Classic single category, with a queen-size bed, a balcony with garden views. Good option for two guests who want more space without the price jump of a suite.

The freshest-looking room in the house. Joyful colors, an eclectic mix of Italian beach-house furniture, and a strong contemporary energy. Largest of the standard doubles. Elegant bathroom. The kind of room that photographs well and actually looks like that when you arrive.
Economy Double
Modern, quiet double room with no balcony and limited views. The most modest price point in the hotel. If you're mostly using the pools and spa and don't care about a view, this works well.
Family Room
One double room plus a twin-bed room, sharing a bathroom with walk-in shower. Large closet — big enough for an extended family stay. Playful design that won't make kids want to leave.
Junior Suite / Beach House Room
Has a cozy living room attached plus a balcony. Styled as a beach house in tribute to the hotel's 1960s origins — playful but not kitsch. Bathroom with natural light and a bathtub. One of the more characterful rooms in the building.
Pool Suite
The most elegant room in the building. Distinctive wallpaper, balcony overlooking the pool and garden greenery, marble bathroom with bathtub, separate shower, and separate WC. This is where the hotel shows off a bit.

Bikes available to rent directly from the hotel. Grado's terrain is flat and there are lagoon-side paths that make this one of the better cycling spots on the Adriatic.
