Hotel St. George opened in May 2018 inside a meticulously restored landmark building on Yrjönkatu, directly across from Old Church Park. The oldest sections date to the 1840s; the signature façade was designed by architect Onni Tarjanne and completed in 1890. The building has housed the Finnish Literature Society, the printing house for Finland's first Finnish-language newspaper, and the Helsinki Finnish Club — and the interior design makes that history tangible. Across 10,000 square metres on seven floors, the hotel offers 148 individually decorated rooms and five suites, a glass-roofed Wintergarden bar, a serious wellness spa with pool and sauna, and an art collection that includes a large-scale Ai Weiwei dragon in the lobby.

On the 1st floor in a secluded corner of the hotel, across from Old Church Park. Atmosphere of privacy and understated elegance with an international flair.

The entry-level room category. Soft mint green and pearl grey tones with abstract art. Compact but well-designed — the classic décor and Finnish artist artwork keep it from feeling generic. Note: the Cozy Studio does NOT include access to St. George Care spa.
QueenFinlandia Suite
A corner suite on the 4th floor celebrating the centenary of Finnish independence. Features an extensive 50 m² terrace facing the inner courtyard — ideal for afternoon drinks in warm months.

A tribute to the hotel's literary history as former home of the Finnish Literature Society. Private, quiet, and meditative in feel. The 20 m² terrace offers views over Helsinki's rooftops.

No guided tours are formally scheduled — you explore on your own.
