Hotel Vermont Burlington
Modern rustic boutique. Warm but unfussy. Heavy on Vermont provenance — local products, local art, local producers — without being precious about it. The lobby is an open, multi-purpose gathering space with a fireplace that actually gets used.

Why It Matters
Burlington's only independent LEED-certified hotel, and the most design-forward property in the city. Every guest room detail is sourced from Vermont makers. The architecture alone — designed by TruexCullins, with a Vermont granite core and a sculptural mountain-scape floating over the lobby — is worth noting. Juniper draws locals, not just hotel guests.
Downtown Burlington's only independent, LEED-certified hotel, opened in 2013 and sitting squarely between Church Street Marketplace and the waterfront. The aesthetic is rustic-modern: Vermont black granite, reclaimed hardwood, local art everywhere. Rooms are compact but well-considered — natural stone showers, 300-thread-count sheets, Vermont Flannel robes — and the Juniper Bar & Restaurant anchors the ground floor with genuinely local food and drink.
