Hotel Villa Dubrovnik
Modernist-Mediterranean luxury. Calm, design-forward, seriously curated — think whitewashed stone walls, terracotta tones echoing Dubrovnik's rooftops, vintage furniture icons mixed with bespoke Croatian craft. Not flashy, but deeply considered.
Book the Galanto Bar from 6pm and arrive early to claim a sofa facing the Old Town — the sunset from up there is genuinely special
Why It Matters
Member of The Leading Hotels of the World and holds a Michelin Key for hotel stays. Restaurant Pjerin is Michelin Guide–recognized. Home to Galanto Bar, the only rooftop bar in Dubrovnik. The 2025 renovation by Studio Arthur Casas transformed the property into one of the most design-forward hotels on the Adriatic. Green Globe Gold certified for sustainability.
Built in 1961 on a cliff above the Adriatic in Dubrovnik's Sveti Jakov area, Villa Dubrovnik shut its doors in October 2023 for a full multi-million Euro overhaul and came back in 2025 as a genuinely reimagined property. Brazilian firm Studio Arthur Casas stripped it back and rebuilt the interiors around Croatian stone, polished wood, and hand-glazed terracotta — then loaded every room with pieces by Gio Ponti, Paula Lenti, Patricia Urquiola, and Eileen Gray. The result is a 56-room cliffside hotel that feels like a serious design museum with a private beach attached.
