This five-star boutique hotel has occupied Positano's highest perch since the early 1940s, when Rosa Taddeo's grandfather first turned the family villa into a guesthouse. Three generations later, Rosa and her husband Massimo still run it. The position is everything: sit on the rooftop and the views sweep 360 degrees across the Mediterranean, the island of Li Galli, and the entire cascade of Positano's colorful houses down to the shore. Inside, minimalist white interiors are hung with contemporary art and finished in Italian marble. The hotel punches above its boutique size with a Michelin-starred restaurant that has just seven tables, a full O'SPA, and an outdoor rooftop pool that guests happily park themselves at all day.

The honest truth: these rooms are snug. Fine for couples who plan to spend most of their time outside the room, but size queens should look higher.
KingHVF Master Suite
The top-of-range suite experience, individually designed with a unique curated art collection in each unit (there are reportedly four of them).
