Why It Matters
One of the very few hotels in western Liguria — outside the predictable Cinque Terre circuit — with a genuine design pedigree, a private beach club, and a kitchen cooking hyperlocal produce within a 5-km radius. It's also the sister property of the acclaimed Filario Hotel & Residences on Lake Como, so the operational DNA is serious.
Hotel Windsor is a 25-room beachfront boutique hotel sitting directly on the sand in Laigueglia, a small Ligurian fishing village halfway between Nice and Genoa. Abandoned for nearly 20 years, it was revived in 2022 by hotelier Alessandro Sironi and his wife, Creative Director Alice Muzzioli, who set out to recapture the understated elegance of the Italian Riviera's 1950s and 1960s heyday. The result is one of the coast's most design-considered small hotels — Italian furniture icons (Cassina, De Padova, Bonacina), lighting by Davide Groppi, Sicilian ceramics, and a seafront restaurant that takes Ligurian cooking seriously.

Deluxe
The only room with two balconies courtesy of its corner position. One faces the coast with Gallinara Island in the background; the other looks out to open sea. Warm light fills the pastel interior. Two cots can be added on request.
Hamlet View
Faces the village rather than the sea. Comfortable, bright and airy, with views across Laigueglia's colourful rooftops and lanes — the most affordable entry point at the hotel. Good option if the seafront premium isn't a priority.
Junior Suite
The largest room in the house, positioned on the top floor. At 42 sqm it has a proper living room, walk-in closet, and a bathroom with both shower and bathtub. Two balconies — one with French doors — face the sea and take in the full gulf panorama from Alassio to Gallinara Island and Capo Mele. The desk is by Ico Parisi. King-size bed (200×200 cm). A cot can be added for children up to 2–3 years old.

Direct views of the bay from the room. Several of these can become interconnecting, making them a practical choice for two couples or a small family. The most sought-after category for waking up to open water.
Side Sea View
Spacious rooms where the balconies frame the beach and sea along to Gallinara Island. The view is angled rather than dead-on, but still very much sea-forward. Reflects all the colours of Laigueglia's beachfront.
Superior
A generous room on the side of the building with partial sea views. Can communicate with the adjacent sea-facing double room — useful for groups or families who want more space without going all the way to a suite.
Wellness
One of a kind in the hotel. The room's signature feature is a freestanding bathtub on a mezzanine loft reached by a short staircase — you soak up there and the effect is genuinely theatrical. Comes with a balcony. No sea view, but the interior experience more than compensates.
