Why It Matters

Multi-award-winning boutique hotel that opened in April 2024 after a three-year renovation, House of Gods is arguably the most visually striking hotel in Glasgow. The interiors were crafted with fashion-world collaborators, the uniforms were designed by Siobhan Mackenzie, and the rooms have in-built prosecco-on-demand buttons. The Times called it 'fast becoming one of the city's coolest hangouts.'

House of Gods Glasgow is a 28-room maximalist boutique hotel sitting in the heart of the Merchant City, and it does not do understated. The interiors lean into full-on decadence: hand-painted 24-karat gold-embellished de Gournay wallpaper in the lobby, a custom toile de jouy designed by Gregory Lewis (who has worked with Chanel and Fendi), oak-panelled rooms with four-poster beds, and a rooftop bar dripping in over 3,000 flowers. No pool, no gym, no conference rooms — this place is purely about the theatrical hotel experience.

Where You'll Stay

4 room types available

The Cabin
Standard Room

The Cabin

The entry-level room and the most intimate of the bunch. Inspired by the Orient Express — dark oak panelling, animal-print bedding, moody lighting. At 107 sq ft it is genuinely small, but every inch is deliberate. Think of it as a chic private carriage rather than a hotel room.

The Classic
Deluxe Room

The Classic

The step-up from the Cabin and considerably more stage-worthy at 150 sq ft. The centrepiece is a hand-built four-poster bed with tiger and zebra print fabrics, gold curtains, and oak-panelled walls. The marble wet room adds a touch of old-money grandeur to the whole theatrical package.

The Presidential Suite
Presidential Suite

The Presidential Suite

The full rock-star treatment. At 400 sq ft and on the top floor, the Presidential Suite comes with a private cinema system with surround sound, a lounge and entertaining area, his-and-hers shower room in the marble-clad wet room, plus the roll-top bath. Two Presidential Suites exist on the top floor and can be booked together to commandeer the entire floor.

The Suite

At 290 sq ft, there is finally real room to stretch out. Same four-poster bed and oak panelling as the Classic, but now with a roll-top feature bath as the bathroom centrepiece and a custom-designed sofa for the sitting area. Animal prints are still very much present.
