Centric Murano Venice
Industrial-historic boutique with Venetian glass craft as the design leitmotif. Calm, slightly off-the-beaten-path, unpretentious lifestyle hotel.
Book a Duplex Suite if you're traveling with kids — the industrial-style metal staircase to the sleeping loft is a genuine crowd-pleaser and the sofa converts to two single beds downstairs
Why It Matters
The only hotel on Murano island built inside a historic glass kiln that was originally a 14th-century church. The first hotel ever to open on Murano. Packed with genuine Venini and Barbini glass art throughout, not just decorative props.
The Hyatt Centric Murano Venice is a hotel with a remarkable backstory: it was previously known as the LaGare Hotel (and before that, the Gare Hotel) and holds the distinction of being the first hotel to open on the island of Murano. The building was constructed within the walls of a former kiln, which itself stands on a site that dates back to a 14th-century church. You can feel that history in the public spaces, from the opulent Murano glass chandeliers overhead to the arched ceilings. Rooms are a different story — modern, calm, with chocolate and beige tones, Venini lighting, parquet floors, and handcrafted glass lamps paying quiet tribute to the island's signature craft. With a vaporetto stop right outside the door, main Venice is only about 15 minutes away.
