Inn at the Presidio
Residential, historic, national park calm. Think rocking chairs on the front porch, evenings at the fire pit with local wine and cheese, and trails starting literally out the back door. No pool, no spa, no gym. This is an inn, not a resort — and it leans into that completely.
Ask for a third-floor Classic King Suite for the best forest and bridge views.
Why It Matters
The only lodging inside the Presidio National Park itself, on the Main Post of a former U.S. Army installation. LEED Gold certified. Named one of the Best Hotels in San Francisco by Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards in 2017, 2018, 2021, and 2022. Member of Historic Hotels of America.
A 22-room boutique inn set inside a beautifully restored 1903 Georgian Revival building — the former bachelor officers' quarters of the U.S. Army's Presidio post. Sitting within San Francisco's 1,491-acre Presidio National Park, it overlooks San Francisco Bay and sits just minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge. The building underwent an environmentally sensitive restoration in 2012, earning LEED Gold certification, and received a design refresh in 2024 that layers plush carpets, military brass accents, and a curated local art program over its historic bones.
