Century City Chengdu
Corporate luxury with genuine local character. The Sichuan-inspired lobby and forest-like café interiors give it more personality than most convention-district hotels. Attracts a mix of international business travelers, Chinese domestic leisure guests, and local Chengdu residents who come for weekend brunch.
The weekend brunch at the Café is hugely popular with local Chengdu residents — book ahead or expect a wait
Why It Matters
The hotel's Café restaurant has consistently ranked in Tripadvisor's top 10 restaurants in all of Chengdu — remarkable for a hotel dining room. The Crystal Ballroom spans 2,800 sqm and is reportedly the largest pillar-free ballroom in Western China. And the location next to both the Convention Center and Guixi Ecological Park is genuinely useful, not just marketing copy.
A 30-story, 555-room luxury tower in Chengdu's Hi-Tech Zone, the InterContinental Century City sits directly next to the city's main convention and exhibition center — which tells you a lot about its primary audience. But it's not purely a corporate machine. The lobby is decked out in traditional western Sichuan architecture and real trees, the Café has been rated one of Chengdu's best restaurants for years, and Guixi Ecological Park (a 93-hectare urban oasis dubbed Chengdu's Central Park) is right on the doorstep. One honest note: there's no pool. And some guests have flagged that the facilities are starting to show their age (the hotel opened in 2007, with a light renovation in 2009).

How you'll actually spend your days.
Fully equipped gym with Cybex machines, stationary bikes, rowers, treadmills, stair steppers, ellipticals, and free weights. Onsite aerobics instructor and personal sports trainers are available. Open around the clock.
Evening reception available for guests, typically in the Club Lounge for executive-level bookings.
The 93-hectare Guixi Ecological Park — Chengdu's answer to Central Park — is directly adjacent to the hotel. Lakes, woodland trails, and open lawns make for an easy morning or evening walk. The hotel concierge can point out the best entry points.
During Chinese New Year and Spring Festival, the hotel lobby transforms into a hands-on cultural fair with handicraft workshops, immersive traditional skill demonstrations, and an 'InterContinental Junior Explorer' interactive course for families.
A Tai Chi master leads sessions in the hotel lobby each morning, giving guests a genuinely local way to start the day. A small but memorable touch that sets this property apart from the standard convention hotel experience.
Yoga classes offered on-site through the fitness center.
