Why It Matters

The Spa at Blythswood Square features Scotland's first (and only) snow shower, a hydrotherapy pool, salt room, and thermal suites — all inspired by the Scottish Hebrides. The Penthouse was redesigned in 2026 and sits atop the Georgian building with a private rooftop garden and 153 sqm of space.
A five-star Georgian hotel occupying four terrace townhouses on one of Glasgow's most handsome garden squares. The building dates to the 1820s and still has the bones to prove it: marble fireplaces, rich wood panelling, lofty ceilings. But the rooms feel genuinely comfortable rather than stuffy, the service is warm rather than stiff, and the spa — a seven-figure Hebridean-inspired renovation — is one of the best in the city.

The entry-level room, but don't let that put you off. At 27 sqm, it's not huge, but the marble bathroom with separate bath and shower, plus the Georgian bones of the building, make it feel considerably more special than the category suggests. Beds are consistently praised by guests.
