Why It Matters
First and only five-star resort on Naxos. Backed by the Laguna Coast Foundation — the largest ecological regeneration project in the Cyclades — with real conservation work: underground power lines to protect migratory birds, saltwater pools, zero-carbon target by 2030, and a partnership with Amazon Web Services on the Naxos Smart Island project. Laguna Coast Resort opened in May 2025 as the only five-star resort on Naxos — and it has a genuinely unusual reason to exist. The property sits at the heart of the largest environmental regeneration project in the Cyclades, surrounded by 480 acres of protected wetlands, a migratory bird lagoon (flamingos included), a cedar forest, and the archaeological site where Neanderthals lived 200,000 years ago. Twenty-one suites and villas, all with private pools or jacuzzis, are arranged around a central lake.
