The attic penthouse suite on the top floor has its own kitchen, a freestanding bathtub, and the best skyline views in the house — worth requesting specifically

Why It Matters

One of Frankfurt's most distinctive small hotels, with GreenSign sustainability certification, 100% plant-based cuisine sourced partly from its own permaculture farm (Braumannswiesen in the Taunus), an in-house analogue recording studio with its own record label (LOTTE LINDENBERG), and a genuine long-stay community program from €1,499/month. Michelin Guide selected.

Libertine Lindenberg is a 27-suite design hotel in Frankfurt's cobblestoned Alt-Sachsenhausen district — the apple cider quarter — that operates as much as a guest collective as a traditional hotel. Opened in 2016, it occupies a Gründerzeit-era building, with suites kitted out in custom handmade furnishings, oversize wall hangings, eccentric lamps, woven carpets, and polished hardwood. The vibe is genuinely arty and lived-in: there's a basement recording studio, a rooftop community kitchen overlooking the skyline, an honor-system grocery, and an Indonesian-themed bar on the ground floor. You can check in for one night or one year.
