Libertine Lindenberg is a 27-suite design hotel in Frankfurt's cobblestoned Alt-Sachsenhausen district — the apple cider quarter — that operates as much as a guest collective as a traditional hotel. Opened in 2016, it occupies a Gründerzeit-era building, with suites kitted out in custom handmade furnishings, oversize wall hangings, eccentric lamps, woven carpets, and polished hardwood. The vibe is genuinely arty and lived-in: there's a basement recording studio, a rooftop community kitchen overlooking the skyline, an honor-system grocery, and an Indonesian-themed bar on the ground floor. The top-floor hideaway under wooden sloping roofs — the largest and most coveted room in the house. Has its own private kitchen, a freestanding bathtub, and sweeping views of the Frankfurt skyline. Feels genuinely different from the floors below; more like a private apartment than a hotel room.

The entry-level room. Compact and focused — 19 square meters of precisely arranged space with aesthetic design details and high-quality materials. Cozy box spring bed, walk-in shower, separate toilet. Small but very deliberately designed, with the emphasis on quality over size.

Old-building charm meets contemporary art — there's a small sitting area alongside the cozy box spring bed, making it the sweet spot between the entry-level room and the larger options. A two-floor 24-square-meter maisonette suite in pastel tones. Desk and sitting area downstairs, bed upstairs under the sloping ceiling. It's the most spatially interesting layout in the house — feels like your own tiny apartment within the building.

The 5th floor Community Kitchen & Salon (26 sqm dining salon + 24 sqm kitchen) overlooks the Frankfurt skyline. Fully equipped with Le Creuset pots and pans, 3 induction hotplates, 2 ovens, a large 12-person dining table, and colorful E15 chairs. Guests cook alone or with others. Available for private kitchen parties and corporate events (up to 40 people).
A recurring communal cooking event where a guest chef, culinary globetrotter, or food expert works alongside LINDENBERG's in-house chef Matthias Holfelder to create a vegan menu from scratch. Guests participate, eat together, and connect. Free for long-stay residents; bookable for overnight guests.
Bicycles are available to hotel guests free of charge — a practical and enjoyable way to reach the Old Town, Städel Museum, and the Main riverbank in under 15 minutes.
The adjacent event venue next door to the hotel: a 70sqm ground-floor studio and showroom with a 31sqm basement bar, built-in projector and music system, and open kitchen. Accommodates up to 100 people. Available for meetings, exhibitions, photo shoots, product launches, and private parties.
A gym in the basement for guests. The hotel can organize local sports coaches on request — email libertine@thelindenberg.com to arrange personal training.
The hotel's analogue basement recording studio — complete with its own record label — hosts regular studio concerts, jam sessions, and cinema screenings. Guests can tune in via the in-house radio station from their rooms. Can also be booked for private studio sessions. Capacity: up to 40 people in 40sqm.
