Opened in 1929, the Hôtel Martinez is the largest hotel in Cannes — 410 rooms and suites in an immaculate Art Deco palace on the Croisette. A $70 million renovation breathed new life into it without gutting the original character: the ivory facade and wrought-iron balconies still command the boulevard. During the Cannes Film Festival it becomes the celebrity nerve centre; the rest of the year it functions as a serious luxury hotel with a private beach club, a 2,800 m² garden-and-spa complex, and the only Michelin-starred restaurant in Cannes.
