Mezzatorre Hotel & Thermal Spa
Glamorous Italian coastal retreat with serious thermal wellness credentials. Interiors are fresh and light — brass details, retro touches, custom Ischian ceramics — designed by Pellicano creative director Marie-Louise Sciò. The vibe hovers between old-money Italian cool and genuine wellness sanctuary.

Why It Matters
One of the only hotels on Ischia with a private thermal spring feeding three hydrotherapy pools directly on-site. The watchtower itself houses the spa. Truman Capote called it 'a strangely enchanted place.' Part of the Leading Hotels of the World and on the 2020 Condé Nast Traveler Hot List. Film director Luchino Visconti loved the bay so much he built his home, La Colombaia, at the top of the hotel's park.
Mezzatorre sits on the northwest tip of Ischia on a rocky promontory above its own private cove, about 18 sea miles from Naples. The main building is built around the ruins of a 16th-century Aragonese watchtower, and the rest of the property — 52 rooms and suites spread between the tower and park cottages — is tucked into 17 acres of Mediterranean pine forest. It's a seasonal hotel, open April through late October, under the care of the Pellicano Hotels group since they took over management.
