Mharo Khet
Quiet, farm-rooted luxury. Think hand-carved stone furniture, jute rugs from Bhadohi, and seashell lamps from Satna — artisanal details everywhere, but without a whiff of try-hard. The pace is slow and deliberate.
Ask for the cottage with the best guava orchard view — the outlook at dusk is the same one you get while dining at Paeru
Why It Matters
Featured on TIME World's Greatest Places 2026, Condé Nast Traveler Hot List 2026, and Travel + Leisure It List 2026. The only property of its kind in the Thar Desert: a working organic farm growing 80+ crop varieties that doubles as a cottage hotel with Michelin-recognized plant-forward dining.
Mharo Khet — 'my farm' in Hindi — is a 40-acre working farmstay on the fringes of Jodhpur, where lush green fields cut through the Thar Desert. Founded by Oxford-educated biomedical engineer Rajnush Agarwal, who turned his family's aloe vera estate into a regenerative farm, the property now houses 10 individually designed cottages named after Indian ragas. Everything here centers on the land: over 95% of produce for the three dining venues comes directly from the organic fields and guava orchards, and all activities are designed to connect guests with Rajasthani culture and sustainable farming.
