Borneta
Relaxed boutique members' club — artsy, warm, locally rooted. Think terracotta tones, jute, hand-crafted furniture, and rotating commissions from Barcelona artists. Not flashy. Just well considered.
Book Volta for dinner rather than just a hotel meal — it's a proper restaurant that stands on its own.
Why It Matters
Miiro Borneta is a Michelin Key Selected property opened in 2024 by InterGlobe Enterprises. It's the only hotel in El Born with a rooftop pool and an art commission programme. Volta Restaurant, helmed by Italian Executive Chef Andrea De Benedictis, is worth a visit even if you're not staying.
Miiro Borneta is a 92-room boutique hotel in Barcelona's El Born neighborhood, housed in a 19th-century building directly across from Parc de la Ciutadella. Opened in August 2024 as the second property from lifestyle brand Miiro, it was designed by London-based studio Thurstan with warm terracotta and olive green tones, Spanish antiques, and a curated local art programme. The vibe is relaxed members' club — jazzy common areas, a rooftop pool crowned by a bespoke Pilar Zeta egg sculpture, and a genuinely good restaurant.

Rotating commissions from leading Barcelona artists displayed throughout the hotel, particularly in The Gallery lobby lounge. Part of the hotel's core identity — not a static collection but an ongoing, evolving programme.
24-hour gym with the latest cardiovascular machines, free weights, and a stretching area. Compact but well-equipped according to guests.
A curated package inspired by Gaudí's year — includes a private tour of Casa Vicens, his first major commission, followed by lunch and drinks at Volta Restaurant back at the hotel. Bookable as a hotel package.
A private room seating up to 14 guests around a single long table. Suited for intimate dinners, focused work sessions, or private events. Bookable separately.
Intimate rooftop pool with views over Parc de la Ciutadella and the Barcelona skyline. Sun-yellow daybeds. Crowning feature: a bespoke egg sculpture by Argentinian artist Pilar Zeta, nominated for two Grammys for her multimedia work with Coldplay and Camila Cabello. Small pool — can get busy in summer. Exclusive access included for Borneta Suite guests.
