Mountain Meadows Lodge
Modern-rustic boutique lodge. Think barn beams with boutique hotel finishes — not precious, but genuinely comfortable. Very communal feel: guests share the lounge, game room, fire pit, and hot tub, which gives it more of a ski chalet atmosphere than a traditional hotel.
Ask for the Lake View Room — the private terrace with two Adirondack chairs overlooking Kent Pond is worth the upgrade
Why It Matters
A 2025 Michelin Select Hotel and Tablet Hotels member, it punches above its price point. The Appalachian Trail literally crosses the property. Originally built as a dairy barn in 1857, converted to a lodge in the 1960s, and recently renovated into one of the more stylish mountain lodges in Vermont. Featured in the Wall Street Journal.
Mountain Meadows Lodge sits on six acres along 100-acre Kent Pond in Killington, Vermont, housed in a converted 1835 dairy barn and adjacent farmhouse. The original hand-hewn timber beams are still doing their job overhead, but everything around them has been overhauled — deep leather sofas, a central stone fireplace, pillowtop beds, and rainfall showers. It's quieter than anything on Killington's main access road, five miles from the K1 Gondola and practically on the doorstep of the Appalachian Trail.

On Property
How you'll actually spend your days.
The Appalachian Trail traverses the property — step out the door and you're on it. Thundering Brook Falls is also within easy reach on foot.
Kent Pond has largemouth bass. Guests can fish directly from the lodge dock.
Vintage pool table, foosball table, darts, a movie room, poker table with cards and table games. Open to all guests.
The lodge keeps canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards available seasonally for direct launch from the property's dock on 100-acre Kent Pond. Bass fishing is also possible off the pier.
Bike racks and a wash station on site. Killington Mountain's trail network is a short drive. The lodge can store and help dry gear.
S'mores over the outdoor fire pit every evening weather permitting — year-round.
Five miles to Killington's K1 Gondola, three miles to Pico Base. The lodge runs scheduled shuttle service to the mountain in ski season and provides a heated locker room with boot dryers and gear storage.
Snowshoes and sleds are available to guests during snow season, included in the amenity fee.
On clear nights the lodge sets out telescopes. The location away from town lights gives genuine dark skies — and reportedly Aurora Borealis sightings on exceptional nights.
Horseshoes, giant Jenga, giant Connect Four, giant ring toss, corn hole, and volleyball available on the grounds.
