Michelin Key 2024 & 2025. One of the few adults-only eco-resorts in Mexico with genuine treehouse rooms built on stilts 23 feet in the air inside a UNESCO-recognized nature reserve. Architecture uses only sustainable local wood and canvas — the property was designed so that nature stays primary.
Nômade Temple Holbox opened in late 2022 as an adults-only eco-resort perched on the western tip of Isla Holbox, a car-free island inside Mexico's Yum Balam Nature Reserve. Just 30 rooms — canvas-walled suites and treehouses elevated 7 meters into the jungle canopy — make this feel genuinely intimate. The whole property runs on solar power, the restaurant sources directly from local fishermen, and the weekly programming pulls in sound healers, breathwork practitioners, and global DJs. Beachfront Treehouse
The premium treehouse category, positioned directly facing the sea and sky rather than deep in the jungle interior. Perched above the jungle canopy with unobstructed ocean views from the elevated platform. Same construction as the Jungle Treehouse — wood, straw, stilts — but oriented toward the Caribbean rather than the tree line. Adults only.
Jungle Treehouse
Elevated 7 meters (23 feet) above ground on sturdy stilts, crafted from latticed wood and straw to resemble an elaborate bird's nest. The structure rises into the jungle canopy with lush vegetation on all sides. Features a narrow spiral staircase up to a rooftop deck with 360-degree views of the island. Inside: queen bed, minibar, Nespresso machine, air conditioning, plus both an indoor and outdoor shower. The bathroom is compact — smaller than you'd expect at this price point. Adults only.
Moon Temple Room
Ground-level canvas-walled room built entirely without concrete, designed to leave minimal environmental impact. The canvas walls give it a glamping feel — breezy and connected to the sounds and smells of the surrounding jungle. Comes with air conditioning, a Nespresso machine, minibar, and queen bed. Open-air bathroom aesthetic means ventilation is good but insects can sneak in during showering. Adults only.
Oceanfront Suite
Free-standing canvas-walled suite at ground level with sweeping sea views directly facing the Caribbean. Steps from the water. Some suites feature private patios with outdoor bathtubs. The canvas walls give everything a luxe-glamping feel — similar to the Moon Temple Room but with an ocean-facing orientation and more premium position. Adults only.
