Habitas Atacama
Minimalist desert base camp. Earth-toned adobe architecture, local textiles, curated Andean art objects. No TVs, no air-conditioning. Feels more like an explorers' camp than a traditional hotel — intentionally so.

Why It Matters
One of very few purpose-built resort experiences in the Atacama with a serious programming infrastructure. The stargazing alone — 300 cloudless nights a year, zero light pollution, private astronomer sessions — is hard to match anywhere on the planet. Add Temazcal rituals, geothermal excursions, and a restaurant (Almas) that actually cooks well in one of the world's most inhospitable places.
Our Habitas Atacama is a 51-room boutique resort sitting on the edge of San Pedro de Atacama — the world's driest non-polar desert. It opened in October 2023 after a full renovation of the former Altiplanico Atacama hotel, making it Our Habitas' first South American property. The whole operation revolves around six programming pillars: Art, Culture, Wellness, Adventure, Learning, and Music. Daily activities are included in every stay, and the surrounding landscape — salt flats, Mars-like valleys, geysers, and some of the clearest skies on Earth — does most of the heavy lifting.
