Petit Soleil
French-inflected California cool. Think Parisian courtyard meets Central Coast wine bar — cobblestones, warm lighting, lush patios, individual room personalities. Not fussy, not rustic. Each room has its own name, color palette, and character.
Get to breakfast early — the warm dishes and pastry selection can run thin by the time latecomers arrive
Why It Matters
Completely relaunched in February 2024 by Good Lion Hospitality, one of Santa Barbara's most acclaimed cocktail-forward hospitality groups. The property now doubles as a serious drinks destination: the rooms have curated mini-bars with bottled house cocktails and local wines, and the adjacent Condesa restaurant brings 35+ hand-selected mezcals to the doorstep. It's one of the few B&Bs in the region where the beverage program rivals the accommodations.
Petit Soleil is a 21-room European-inspired boutique B&B operated by Good Lion Hospitality — the Santa Barbara cocktail crew who gave it a full gut renovation in early 2024. They check you in at the bar, which tells you everything you need to know. Complimentary breakfast and a nightly aperitif hour (wine, beer, cider, housemade snacks) are baked into every stay, and the in-house wine list is curated by one of the world's few female sommeliers. Add the on-site Condesa agave bar next door and you've got a property that takes drinking just as seriously as sleeping.
